Reading

There are no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no trackers, and the fonts come from this site. The only things stored in your browser are your own settings: light or dark, the volume, the mix and the music you chose, the order of the notes, which notes you have heard to the end, whether the bar at the bottom is folded and how many times the tip about the volume has been shown. They stay on your device and are never sent anywhere. The host, Cloudflare, sees your IP address to deliver the pages and defend against abuse, like any host. We do not receive it or keep it.

Sending a note

A note is only its text. We do not ask for a name, an email address or an account, and the app that receives it keeps no IP address or anything else about you with it. The text is stored encrypted, and one person reads it. A note that is not published is deleted 30 days after it arrives. A published note carries no name, is read aloud (its text goes to ElevenLabs, the speech service that makes the voice) and stays on the site until you delete it or we take it down.

After sending you get a private link, once. It shows what became of your note and lets you delete it at any time. We keep only a fingerprint of the link, so we cannot show it to you again, and if you lose it we cannot tell which note is yours. A deleted note leaves the site at its next update; copies someone already saved elsewhere cannot be recalled. Please leave out names and details that could identify you or anyone else.

Every published note has a link to report it: it opens an email to the address above, and like any email it shows us the address you write from. One more thing, for notes and for the list: the program in front of our server writes the IP address of every request it gets in its access log, when you send a note, sign up, or open a link from our emails or a note's private link. Those lines are deleted after 7 days.

The list

If you join the list, we keep your email address (encrypted), when you confirmed and the wording you agreed to, and whether each email reached you. You get one email with a link, and only the button on the page it opens adds you; nothing else is sent before that. A sign-up that is never confirmed is deleted after a week.

The emails go out through Resend, a delivery service, and carry no tracking: we do not learn whether you opened one or clicked a link. Every email has a link to leave (one button, no login), and your mail app's unsubscribe button works too. About 30 days after you leave, your address is deleted; we keep only a one-way fingerprint of it, with the dates and your consent, so that nothing is ever sent to it again. The address is never sold or used for anything else.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to the contact address above. We can find what we hold only by your exact email address; a note you sent can be found only with its private link. Copies of our database (backups) are kept for at most 90 days, so what is deleted is gone from them within 90 days too. You can also complain to your national data protection authority.
